Practice 2 - Duel

I had some time to kill at the studio. At the time I had been playing 'Castle Crashers' and fell in love with the characters. So I decided to make a short animation with one of the characters. It took me about 2 days. Thanks for the inspiration, Dan Paladin. Please don't sue.

A Nation of Fickle Fellas

This was a school project where the intent was for us to use after effects to create a collage. This means that a bunch of images need to add up to create another separate message. I intended to show the fickle nature of Americans.

Awakenings

This piece was made as a final project for my animation class. It is a serious piece about how a man and woman come to realizations about their relationship. It was completed at a very rushed pace in about 3 weeks. It was originally supposed to be only 4-5 minutes long, but the story would not have been complete. Enjoy.

Toasty Dance

This was an assignment designed as an exercise in our web animation skills. We were to use limited animation and symbols to create a thirty second animation. I decided to make toast dance. not the best idea, but it was cute none the less.

This is the first episode in a newly created series called 'The Night Watchman.' Originally it was intended to be an exercise in walk cycles, but I decided to make it a little more interesting.

Mashup Assignment

This was designed as an assignment in which we were to utilize found resources to create a new meaning. In my piece I wanted to convey the idea that it is okay to be bored by certain things, but when it comes to enjoying simple pleasures, like explosions and car chases, if you can't enjoy them, then what is the point. These things bring us excitement and a rush of adrenaline, but if you can't appreciate their value as entertainment then why bother. Vimeo had a hard time uploading my video so I just posted in straight here.

Heads Will Roll

This is the second part of the bounce exercise where we were told to choose an object that wasn't a ball and make it bounce down the stairs. I thought a head would be very fitting.

This was designed as an exercise in bounce physics. We had to depict the properties of squash and stretch as well as showing how our ball would be affected by gravity and the impact.

Hologram Teachers

This animation was an exercise meant for the entire class. It was intended for us to utilize one of the key characteristics of animation; metamorphosis. The assignment was supposed to outline the history of the University from the 60's on into the future. My portion was the future segment where I hypothesized that we will have hologram teachers.

A New Year
